At Corpus Christi, we are proactive in building relationships with our school and the wider community. We strive to foster and develop positive relationships with our families by making our school a welcoming place for all.
Why is family engagement important in schools?
Ongoing research shows that family engagement in schools improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism, and restores parents’ confidence in their children’s education. We recognise that learning happens both in the home and at school and partnering with families improves students’ academic achievement, academic behaviour, and social-behavioural competency. Families who feel they are working in partnership with their child’s school will be more likely to engage in practices to support learning at home.
We recognise that learning is most successful when schools, families and students work together. Strong partnerships with parents and carers support student growth, wellbeing and achievement.
Together, we create a learning community where every child is known, valued and inspired to become the best version of themselves—academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally.
